Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, August 24) — Senator Win Gatchalian was rushed to hospital and discharged later on Wednesday after being admitted on complaints of dizziness.
“High blood daw, pero OK na [It was supposedly due to high-blood pressure, but it’s OK now],” the senator’s brother, Valenzuela City Mayor Rex Gatchalian, told CNN Philippines. “Working too hard, I guess,” he added.
The senator then posted late Wednesday that there was “nothing to worry about” regarding his health.
“Thank you to everyone who expressed their concern and sent their prayers,” he said. “I am truly touched by the outpouring of support. I just need some time to rest and recharge, but I am looking forward to returning to work at the Senate very soon. God bless everyone!”
Gatchalian’s staff said the senator felt dizzy while at work. After Senate doctors examined him, he was brought to Makati Medical Center, his staff added.
They said the senator was exhausted and lacked sleep.
