
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, August 11) — A number of schools called off classes on Friday in the aftermath of the magnitude-6.3 quake that hit Nasugbu, Batangas.
The following cities and schools have announced class and work suspension, as of 4:53 p.m.

The earthquake hit an area off Nasugbu at 1:28 p.m., the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
It said the quake was tectonic in origin — or there was a movement in the Earth’s crust – with a depth of 160 kilometers. Aftershocks are expected.
Nasugbu is around 100 km away from Manila City.
