Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, April 29) — The National Capital Region (NCR) was once again the overall champion of the week-long Palarong Pambansa 2017, for 13th year in a row.
With 98 gold, 66 silver, and 45 bronze medals, the NCR bested 18 regions that participated in the annual nationwide games.
Coming in at second is Region IV-A Calabarzon, and at third place is the host region-Region VI Western Visayas.
NCR dominated in regular sports such as basketball, swimming, gymnastics, football, and table tennis.
Meanwhile, the Southern Tagalog ranked first at the paralympic games, with 24 gold, 5 silver, and 9 bronze medals.
Western Visayas followed closely behind, while the Davao Region clinched third rank.
