Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, April 13) — It might be a rainy Easter weekend in parts of the Philippines, as a low pressure area (LPA) approaches the country this Holy Week.
In its 11 a.m. weather advisory, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the nearby LPA may bring moderate to occasionally heavy rains and thunderstorms over Eastern Visayas, Southern Luzon, and northern Mindanao this weekend.
Metro Manila, Central Luzon, and the rest of Visayas and Mindanao will also experience light to moderate rains and thunderstorms.
The LPA is expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) within the next two to three days.
PAGASA said the LPA may turn into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours.
The possible tropical depression will be named “Crising” once it enters the PAR.
As of 11 a.m., it was located 900 km east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur.
