Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, December 22) — Actress Kim Chiu once again proves she has a golden heart as she brought an early Christmas to members of an indigenous community in Central Luzon last weekend.
Just a week before the holidays, the actress proved she was no Christmas Grinch as she generously visited and handed out gifts to Aetas in Bamban, Pampanga.
A video posted by the actress on Wednesday shows Chiu and her team braving the heat as they gave goodie bags, toys, and lunch to members of the community. The actress was dressed simply in jeans, a white t-shirt, rubber shoes, and a cap.
Chiu organized the event with her team using proceeds from her “bazaar for a cause.”
As of Friday, the post has gained 68,252 views.
Chiu also posted other photos of her looking fulfilled as she posed side by side with fans of all ages.
“People say you give love; you receive love in return and that’s the best gift in the world! cheers to 2017!!!! Merry Christmas!!!” she said.
But the actress was quick to recognize she couldn’t have done the job alone.
“All smiles!!!!! THANK YOU team chinita!!!! I dont know what to do without you guyz!!! salamat! maraming salamat for all the help [Thank you so much for all the help]!” she said.
In her caption for the video, Chiu also thanked those who supported her bazaar. She said they had made the community so happy.
“Kahit hindi kasya sa inyo bumili pa rin kayo.. eto na po sya!” Chiu said. “Ang dami nyo pong napasaya ngayong pasko! sana mashare ko sa inyo yung saya nila kanina nung natanggap nila ang mga regalo!”
[Translation: Even if it didn’t fit, you still bought it… Here it is! You made so many peple happy this Christmas. I wish I could share how happy they were when they got the gifts.]
Chiu’s generosity impressed fans, who praised her for having a “good heart.”
