Actor Rocco Nacino graduates cum laude with master’s degree in nursing

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, November 24) — Actor and model Rocco Nacino proved he’s got both the looks and the brain.

Nacino on Friday marched in his toga as he graduated cum laude and earned his master’s degree in nursing at St. Bernadette of Lourdes College in Quezon City.

In his Instagram account, Nacino posted a series of photos of his graduation ceremony, along with his dedication message.

“I’m honored to have graduated alongside my batch mates who also kept education as their priority. I salute all of you, our professors and fellow graduates, who will be our game changers of the future. May this also inspire everyone else to aim high and soar high. This is for you mom & dad. To God be the Glory!” he said said.

Nacino passed the Nursing Board Exam in 2009.

In a separate Instagram post on Tuesday, the actor revealed he passed his master’s thesis defense two years after starting on his degree.

Finally, another one checked off my bucket list! Passed my thesis defense and am set to graduate as a cum laude this Friday! It's been a crazy 2 years of balancing everything, and now I am almost at the finish line. This one's for you mom and dad! It's a different sense of fulfillment when it comes to pursuing education. And now I can finally breathe a huuuugge sigh of relief! Thank you to my panel of doctors who pushed me to my limits today, at the end of the day, these people push you because they only want what's best for you. Thank you also St. Bernadette of Lourdes college and its staff for being patient with my schedules. I did it! The 29-year-old Baguio City native rose to fame after participating in the fifth edition of the reality talent competition “Starstruck” in 2009, where he eventually clinched a podium finish.

He has since starred in numerous films and television shows, including “Ang Sayaw ng Dalawang Kaliwang Paa,” “Bar Boys,” and “Alaala: A Martial Law Special.”
