Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, October 29) — The Adamson Soaring Falcons turned back the National University Bulldogs, 90-77, Sunday evening at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Jerrick Ahanmisi and Jonathan Espeleta showed the way for the Soaring Falcons with 16 points apiece.
Adamson was scorching hot right off the bat after building a 32-12 advantage at the end of the opening frame.
As the Bulldogs struggled to find their rhythm, the Soaring Falcons capitalized on this by maintaining a comfortable cushion at the half.
Showing no mercy, Adamson continued to push the tempo, which resulted to 72-48 edge going into the payoff period.
Rev Diputado sparked a spirited fourth quarter run for NU who trimmed the lead to a single digit with still a lot of time remaining in the match.
But then, the Soaring Falcons had already established an insurmountable lead to notch their eighth victory in 12 outings.
Matt Salem sat out the game for the Bulldogs due to dengue.
Papi Sarr and Robbie Manalang chipped in 14 points each for Adamson.
Jayjay Alejandro and Dipuatdo were the only NU players who scored double digits with 18 points and 14 points, respectively.
The Soaring Falcons will tackle the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons on November 5, while the Bulldogs collide with the De La Salle University Green Archers on November 4.
