
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — Schools and local government units in central Visayas and northern Mindanao have declared class suspensions Tuesday due to bad weather.
As of 7 a.m. classes in both public and private schools are suspended in the following areas:
(Pre-school to high school)
Cebu Province
Negros Oriental
Misamis Oriental
Cagayan de Oro City
The following schools, colleges, and universities have also canceled classes:
Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental
Silliman University, Dumaguete City (Classes & Work)
Cagayan de Oro City, Misamis Oriental

Cagayan De Oro City has been placed under a state of calamity following massive flooding caused by heavy rains which started Monday afternoon.
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) in its 11 a.m. update said moderate to occasionally heavy rains and thunderstorms are still expected over the Visayas, Caraga, and Northern Mindanao on Tuesday.
The rains are caused by the tail-end of a cold front affecting the Visayas, PAGASA said.
