Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — Perennial finalists the Ateneo Lady Eagles will meet the University of Santo Tomas (UST) Golden Tigresses on the first day of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Season 79 women’s volleyball tournament.

This year’s competition is set to kick off on February 4 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum when the National University (NU) Lady Bulldogs take on the University of the East (UE) Lady Red Warriors in the first game.

The Lady Eagles and the Golden Tigresses figure in the second match of the day.

Defending champions the La Salle Lady Spikers will first see action when they tackle the Far Eastern University (FEU) Lady Tamaraws on February 5 also at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

While the University of the Philippines (UP) Lady Maroons and the Adamson Lady Falcons will contest the first game of the Sunday schedule.

The highly anticipated rivalry showdown between La Salle and Ateneo is scheduled for March 4 at the Mall of Asia Arena.
