
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, April 8) — The Magnolia Hotshots lived to fight another day after taking an easy 106-77 victory over Barangay Ginebra in their best-of-three quarterfinals series.
Using a blazing 11-0 run to start the game, the Hotshots never looked back to level the series against the Gin Kings.
Jio Jalalon recovered from a dismal Game One showing by recording 17 points, six assists and five steals to earn best player of the game honors.
Ian Sangalang had a game-high 21 points, while Robbie Herndon added 18 markers.
Magnolia led by as much as 31 points in the final quarter in the one-sided affair.
Sol Mercado paced Ginebra with a team-high 13 points. Twin towers Japeth Aguilar and Greg Slaughter only managed to score five points apiece.
The two teams will collide anew on Wednesday to determine who will face the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters in the best-of-seven semifinals.
