Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, April 11) — President Rodrigo Duterte spoke behind bullet-proof glass again as he endorsed his political party’s senatorial slate in Bacolod City Thursday.
“Kaya nilagyan ng presidential guard (ng glass) kasi baka target-in ako sa malayo [The presidential guard placed the glass since I may be targeted from afar],” Duterte said during the campaign sortie of Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban).
This is the second time recently the bullet-proof glass was olaced in front of the President. It was first installed during the PDP-Laban campaign in Malabon City on April 3.
The Presidential Security Group had explained the glass panel is installed in an open area.
