Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, September 9) — A former police official who was once a key anti-crime figure joined the Department of Information and Communications Technology, Malacañang said.

A statement released Wednesday said Cezar Mancao II is now executive director V of the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordination Center.

“We are confident that Mr. Mancao’s professional credentials would contribute in cybercrime prevention in the country,” the statement read.

Mancao was a member of the defunct Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Task Force during the Estrada administration.

He was linked to the murder of publicist Bubby Dacer and his driver Emmanuel Corbito in 2000.
