Bato Dela Rosa swept into the national consciousness shortly after President Duterte won the elections in May 2016. When he became chief of the Philippine National Police but his quite different from his predecessors but obviously a hit with the masses. And without meaning to this man kept hitting the headlines for all the outrageous, but well yes funny reasons with his one-liner zingers not unlike the man he’s pledged loyalty to since day one. Some find him offensive but many others are actually entertained and convinced he is just speaking his mind. And that’s what propelled Dela Rosa to number five spot in the 2019 race for the Senate where he is been closely watched ever since.
