Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, June 27) — The Philippine Red Cross has inaugurated what is now considered the largest COVID-19 testing laboratory in the country, with a capability to conduct 14,000 tests daily, Chairman and Senator Richard Gordon said Saturday.
Gordon said the Port Area Molecular Laboratory will allow the Red Cross to test up to 22,000 samples in Metro Manila.
The Department of Health said the national daily testing output has reached 16,000. Metro Manila remains to have the highest number of cases with a case positivity rate of 6.8 percent, indicating that six out of 100 people tested are found positive for COVID-19.
COVID-19 cases have surpassed 34,000 in the country, with 1,236 deaths and 9,430 recoveries.
