
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, April 9)— Thirteen more Filipinos abroad have contracted COVID-19, bringing the total number of overseas cases to 607, the Foreign Affairs Department reported Thursday.
The new cases were recorded in the Americas, Asia Pacific, and Europe, DFA said. No new cases were listed in the Middle East.
The death toll for overseas Filipinos is now at 72, while a total of 171 have recovered from the infectious disease.
DFA added, 364 of our countrymen are undergoing treatment.
Globally, there are now over 1.4 million cases of COVID-19 in 184 different countries including China, the epicenter of the disease outbreak.
Cases in the Philippines, on the other hand, topped 4,000 as of Thursday.
