Quezon Province to be placed under ‘total lockdown’ starting April 9

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, April 8) — The Province of Quezon will be placed under “total lockdown” starting April 9, Governor Danilo Suarez announced Wednesday.

Suarez said the move was made in light of the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in the province despite the enhanced community quarantine.

As of April 7, Quezon has recorded 15 confirmed cases of the coronavirus disease, including three deaths.

“Hinihiling ko po ang higit ninyong pang-unawa at pakikiisa sa panahon ng pandemic na ito,” Suarez said in a Facebook post.

According to the provincial government, the total lockdown will translate to “stricter implementation of the enhanced community quarantine.” An executive order will be issued to define the framework and guidelines of this policy, it added.
