7 new cases confirmed in Quezon City, raises total number to 104

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, March 28) — The Quezon City government listed seven more cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number to 104, the city health department said.

Breaking it down, the city has 17 deaths and nine recoveries as of Friday.

The new cases are in the following areas:

District 1

● Brgy. Bungad – 1

District 3

● Brgy. E. Rodriguez – 1

● Brgy. San Roque – 1

District 4

● Brgy. Teachers Village East – 1

● Brgy. Teachers Village West – 1

District 6

● Brgy. New Era – 1

● Brgy. Pasong Tamo – 1

Local workers disinfected 67 more barangays as part of decontamination operations, bringing the total number of disinfected barangays to 119.

The Health Department reported 803 cases Friday with a death toll of 54, and a 31 people who recovered.

Around 80 percent of infected people experience “mild illness” and eventually recover from COVID-19, according to the World Health Organization. Some 15 percent experience severe illness while five percent were critically ill, the group said.

Authorities are constantly urging people to practice regular hand washing, cover their mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing, and avoid close contact with those who exhibit virus symptoms.
