Magnitude 5.4 earthquake jolts Davao Occidental

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, February 20) — A magnitude 5.4 earthquake struck Davao Occidental Thursday afternoon, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said.

The epicenter of the quake that hit at 5:48 p.m. was 35 kilometers southeast of Jose Abad Santos municipality in Davao Occidental. It had a depth of 190 kilometers.

The earthquake was felt at Intensity IV in General Santos City, and Intensity III in Sarangani’s Kiamba, Alabel and Malungon municipalities as well as Tupi in South Cotabato.

Intensity I was recorded in Kidapawan City and Koronadal City.
