Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, November 26)— President Rodrigo Duterte has named lawyer Aimee Ferolino-Ampoloquio, provincial election supervisor of Davao del Norte, as new commissioner of the Commission on Elections.

Both Comelec and Malacañang confirmed the development on Thursday.

Ferolino-Ampoloquio received the nomination on November 24, and will serve a term expiring on February 2, 2027. With the designation, the official completes the seven-member en banc of the poll body, replacing former Commissioner Al Parreño who retired in February.

“Commissioner Ferolino-Ampoloqiuo’s vast experience in the frontline of election service will greatly contribute to the Commission’s thrust to ensure that our electoral processes are responsive to the varying needs of our electorate— making sure that our elections are more inclusive,” Comelec said in a statement.

Before her current post in Davao del Norte, Ferolino-Ampoloquio had served as election supervisor for Compostela Valley. She also previously worked as election assistant and emergency laborer for Comelec.
