
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, January 23) – A fire broke out in a residential area in Tondo, Manila early Thursday morning.
Residents along Lico Street were roused from their slumber when the fire started at 12:54 a.m.. The fire has been declared under control as of 4:22 a.m.. No casualties were reported but initial investigation from the Manila Center Fire Station revealed that around 100 houses were affected.
The blaze reached Task Force Delta at 2:41 a.m., meaning more than 30 fire trucks were needed to contain it. The fire reportedly started from a four-storey house but the cause has yet to be determined. Initial damage was pegged at P1.5 million.
