Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, September 19) — A low pressure area last spotted east of Catarman, Northern Samar, is expected to bring rains over southern Luzon, the Visayas, and Mindanao, according to a forecaster at the state weather bureau.
However, the forecaster said the weather disturbance has a low chance of turning into a storm.
The rest of the country, including Metro Manila, will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, the weather forecaster said.
In a briefing Sunday morning, Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration weather specialist Grace Castañeda said the Visayas, Bicol Region, Caraga, Northern Mindanao, Davao Region, SOCCSKSARGEN, and Quezon could experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms.
