Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, August 3) — Vaccinated essential workers and other authorized persons outside of residence or APORs can avail of free train rides from Aug. 3 to 20.
In a statement on Monday, Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade said APORs can ride the Metro Rail Transit Line 3, Light Rail Transit Line 2, and the Philippine National Railways for free when they present their vaccination cards as proof of their inoculation.
This means those who got at least one COVID-19 shot can avail of this benefit, even before the enhanced community quarantine period in Metro Manila starts on Aug. 6.
Meanwhile, the Philippine Ports Authority, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines, and the Manila International Airport Authority will provide free drinks and snacks to vaccinated passengers waiting at the seaports and airports.
“Ginagawa po natin ito para makatulong sa pangangalaga ng kalusugan at kaligtasan ng ating mga kababayan, at upang matulungan ang gobyerno na mahikayat silang magpabakuna kontra COVID-19,” Tugade said.

Metro Manila is still under general community quarantine with heightened and additional restrictions until Aug. 5. It will shift to ECQ on Aug. 6 to 20 to control the spread of the COVID-19 Delta variant.
