Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, June 1)— NBA star Damian Lillard has provided a “generous” donation to the Philippine General Hospital, which was hit by a fire last month.
Filipina actress Yassi Pressman, who launched the donation drive, said the Portland Trail Blazers guard sent over a “generous amount” to help the state-run medical facility.
“Also, [huge] thanks to big brother [Damian Lillard] for sending over such a generous amount, kahit na wala siya sa Pilipinas (even though he’s not in the Philippines), just to be able help,” Pressman wrote on Instagram.
Lillard also confirmed the news on his social media pages.
A fire hit a portion of the PGH early morning of May 16, leading to the evacuation of several patients including newborns. There were no reported casualties following the incident.
Meanwhile, Pressman continued to call for donations for the PGH.
