“With this initiative from our HEIs, the country will be assured that when A4 and B1 (vaccination priority lists) come in and the bulk of the vaccines arrive, we would have expanded the vaccination centers”, said CHED chair Prospero De Vera.
De Vera said more HEIs have signified interest in offering their facilities as vaccination sites, many of which were previously allowed to conduct limited face-to-face classes for their medical and allied health programs.
He also assured the public these facilities were inspected to ensure they complied with the government’s health standards.
CHED earlier announced there were already schools that have teamed up with their local governments to use their facilities as vaccination centers. Guidelines will be also provided for the establishment of such additional sites, it added.
