
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, April 5) — Veteran journalist Crispulo Icban Jr. has died, a post on the Manila Bulletin’s Facebook page said Monday. He was 85 years old.
“Your legacy will be honored and cherished forever. We will miss you dearly, sir Jun,” it said.
The cause of his death was not mentioned in the Bulletin post..
Icban was editor-in-chief of the Bulletin for many years before he was elected publisher in 2020. He also served as Press Secretary under former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
Online tributes poured in for Icban, noting his leadership as a journalist and editor.
Manila Bulletin’s Publisher and Editor-in-Chief Dr. Crispulo J. Icban Jr. has passed away this afternoon.
