Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, April 30) — The Health Department has allowed local government units in Metro Manila to resume inoculating its residents using the Sinovac COVID-19 vaccines initially reserved for second dose.
Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire on Friday said local governments can tap the allocated doses while awaiting replenishment so the immunization drive will not be paused.
“Nagtanong sila kung maaaring gamiting hanggang hinihintay ang parating na doses. Ito ay nabigyan ng approval,” she said in a media briefing.

The health official assured that the vaccines will reach LGUs as soon as possible since the distribution of the one million Sinovac doses delivered in the past two weeks is now ongoing.
