Limited outdoor exercises allowed during ECQ

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, March 29) — Outdoor physical activity and exercise are allowed in areas under enhanced community quarantine, save for some restrictions and reminders issued by the government on Monday.

Malacañang said these activities are allowed only from 6 a.m. to 9.a.m. in Metro Manila, Rizal, Bulacan, Cavite, and Laguna during the ECQ period.

Joggers, runners, bikers, and the like can exercise outside as long as it is in the vicinity of their homes or within their barangay.

The Department of Health also said they need to wear face masks at all times and practice physical distancing.

In the week-long ECQ enforced over the Greater Manila area, those under 18 years old and over 65 are prohibited from leaving their homes for non-essential reasons.

Metro Manila and the four provinces under the NCR Plus bubble are under strict quarantine restrictions from March 29 to April 4, with curfew from 6 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Non-essential businesses, staycations, religious gatherings are not allowed during this period to encourage the public to stay home.
