Caritas Manila head, staff contract COVID-19

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, March 21) — Executive director Fr. Anton Pascual and other staff members of Caritas Manila, the social arm of the Archdiocese of Manila, have tested positive for COVID-19.

This was confirmed on Sunday by Radio Veritas, the Catholic radio station also headed by Fr. Pascual.

According to Radio Veritas, the priest is now being treated at the Cardinal Santos Medical Center, while the other infected employees are under quarantine. It did not disclose how many personnel were infected.

The Caritas Manila building in Jesus St., Pandacan, Manila has also been placed on lockdown on Saturday, March 20 and will last until Sunday, March 28.

The non-profit organization, meanwhile, assured it will continue to provide its services in Metro Manila and nearby areas, especially to those affected by the pandemic.
