Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, March 18) — House Majority Leader and Leyte 1st District Rep. Martin Romualdez announced he has tested positive for COVID-19.
In a statement, Romualdez said he received his test results on Wednesday showing he got infected with the coronavirus. He is scheduled to undergo a second test on Thursday to rule out a false positive result.
Romualdez urged everyone who had close contact with him to have themselves tested as well.
“I am coping well despite experiencing symptoms of the disease,” he said.
Negros Oriental 1st District Rep. Jocelyn Limkaichong and Anakalusugan Party-list Rep. Mike Defensor had also announced this week that they tested positive for COVID-19.
