Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, December 6) — K-pop superstars BTS will take an “extended period of rest” after their performances in the United States, according to Big Hit Music.
The music company said this will be the group’s second official break since 2019. The seven-member boy group will go on a holiday break with their families after their “Permission to Dance on Stage – L.A.” concert and the “2021 Jingle Ball Tour.”
“The period of rest will provide the members of BTS, who have tirelessly committed themselves to their activities, a chance to get re-inspired and recharge with creative energy. It will also be the first time for them since their debut to spend the holiday season with their families,” said Big Hit in a statement.
Big Hit said that BTS will also be focusing on a new album that will mark “the beginning of a new chapter.” The group is preparing for a concert on March next year in Seoul, it added.
“We kindly ask once again that you show consideration for their need to enjoy ordinary and free, everyday lives while solely concentrating on themselves, albeit for a short while, during their period of rest,” said Big Hit.
All the seven members have recently applied to defer their military enlistment until the age of 30.
BTS earlier made history as the first Asian group to win the “Artist of the Year” award in the 2021 American Music Awards.
They also recently earned their second consecutive “Best Pop/Duo Group Performance” nomination at the Grammy Awards for their hit single, “Butter.”
