Metro Manila, Philippines – President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Wednesday announced that an increase in the base pay of military and uniformed personnel (MUP) will be implemented in three tranches beginning January 2026.

In a video statement, the chief executive lauded MUPs for their service and sacrifice especially amid natural disasters.

The president said MUPs from the Department of National Defense, Department of the Interior and Local Government, Philippine Coast Guard, Bureau of Corrections and the National Mapping and Resource Information Authority are included in the pay hike.

Marcos said the tranches are set every first of January from 2026 to 2028.

Earlier this year, Marcos also greenlit the hike in the military’s daily subsistence allowance to ₱350 from ₱150.
