Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, August 26) — Officials of a non-government organization led by former Vice President Leni Robredo met with Social Welfare Secretary Erwin Tulfo on Friday to explore a potential partnership, in particular on the administration’s aid program.
“Angat Buhay Chairperson Leni Robredo and Executive Director Raffy Magno had a meeting with Secretary Erwin Tulfo to discuss our programs and possible points for collaboration,” the NGO said on its social media page. “We are excited to work with DSWD (Department of Social Welfare and Development) in uplifting marginalized Filipinos across the country.”
Tulfo confirmed the meeting, saying Robredo and her team offered to help in aid distribution in the provinces.
Launched in July, Angat Buhay was patterned after the anti-poverty program of the Office of the Vice President under Robredo. She earlier said the NGO will be the “widest” volunteer network in the country.
Tulfo, in an earlier interview, also shared his intent to work with Angat Buhay.
