Diesel prices are seen to jump by ₱5.90 to ₱6.10 per liter on Aug. 30, Unioil Petroleum Philippines said on Saturday.
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, August 26) — A big-time increase in pump prices is expected next week, according to industry projections.
In a briefing the day before, Department of Energy Assistant Director Rodela Romero said they also see an increase of around ₱5 per liter for kerosene.
Unioil, meanwhile, estimates the per-liter rate of gasoline to go up by ₱1.20 to ₱1.40.
According to Romero, the projected hefty price hike is due to high oil demand in some countries for harvest activities and heating needs.
Oil companies usually announce possible price changes on Monday, to take effect Tuesday morning.
