Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, August 2) — The Ateneo de Manila University on Tuesday announced it will conduct its college entrance exam again this year after two years of suspending the test due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The school said the Ateneo College Entrance Test (ACET) will once more be part of the admissions process for school year 2023-2024.

For freshman admissions, the test will be held in Metro Manila from October 29-30, while it will be conducted outside the region from November 5-6.

For transfer applicants, the exam will be administered in January 2023.

“As earlier announced, the revived ACET is a refreshed version of the examination designed to better assess applicants,” Ateneo said.

Details on the testing venues have yet to be released.

Apart from the exam results, Ateneo said it will accept students based on academic and non-academic performance from Grades 9 to 11, batch ranking by the end of Grade 11, personal admission essays, recommendation letters, extracurriculars, and disciplinary records.

These were the factors the school considered for admission when it suspended the ACET in the last two years.

The application period for first year college entry and scholarship runs from August 1 to September 30, while transferees may apply from August 1, 2022 to March 24, 2023. Ateneo said the submission of requirements will be fully online.

The results of the application will be released via email in April 2023 for freshmen students and in May 2023 for transferees.

Meanwhile, Ateneo stressed it has not authorized any individual or entity, including review centers, to conduct review or training sessions in preparation for the ACET.

“The University reserves its rights to address false claims of authorization to conduct such reviews and unauthorized use of ‘Ateneo’ and related terms,” the school said.
