Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, July 20) — Former Vice President Leni Robredo’s free teleconsultation service will again be operational under her Angat Buhay non-government organization amid the rise in COVID-19 cases in the country.
“Dahil sa pagdami na naman ng Covid cases dito sa atin, magbubukas pong muli ang Bayanihan e-Konsulta,” Robredo announced on her Facebook page late Wednesday.
[Translation: Due to the increasing COVID-19 cases, the Bayanihan e-Konsulta will open once again.]
In preparation for such reopening, Robredo said they are in need of at least 50 non-medical volunteers and 40 medical volunteers. More may be welcomed to the roster depending on the number of requests, she said.
As of publishing, more than a thousand have already signed up for the reopening of the e-consultation service.
Those who are interested to sign up as volunteers are reminded that work setup is remote or work-from-home. Volunteers must have their own computer/laptop, smartphone, and internet connection.
The program was first launched by the Office of the Vice President under Robredo’s term in April 2021. Around that time, Metro Manila was facing a surge in new infections.
Bayanihan e-Konsulta ceased operations on May 31, 2022 as the OVP transitioned to a new administration. That same day, Robredo said that the program has so far assisted more than 58,000 cases, both COVID and non-COVID, with the help of volunteer doctors and call/chat agents.
Both Robredo and Raffy Magno, Angat Buhay executive director, said on their Twitter accounts that over 1,000 have already signed up to be volunteers of the program.
“1,100 volunteers ang nagsign up, in less than 20 minutes,” Magno tweeted.
Robredo, in a separate tweet, added, “The spirit of volunteerism is alive and well.”
Prior to the launch of Angat Buhay in July, Robredo said she’s envisioning it to be the “widest” volunteer center in the country.

Maraming salamat po! Excited na kaming simulan ang Bayanihan E-konsulta kasama ninyo. @angatbuhay_ph
