When 16-year-old Garam was unveiled as part of the new girl group under HYBE — the entertainment company of pop superstars BTS — bullying allegations started to emerge from her supposed schoolmates in middle school.
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, July 20) — Kim Garam is leaving K-pop girl group Le Sserafim months after she figured in bullying allegations when she was a student.
Entertainment label Source Music, in an official statement on Wednesday, said it has decided to terminate the exclusive contract of the rookie idol.
Source Music initially denied the allegations. But only a few days after Le Sserafim’s debut, Garam was placed on hiatus and the group promoted as a quintet.
It said Le Sserafim, which debuted in May with its title track “Fearless,” will continue as a five-member group with Kim Chae-won, Sakura Miyawaki, Kazuha, Huh Yun-jin, and Hong Eun-chae.
