Inside Juan Carlo the Caterer’s 30th Anniversary Celebration

For three decades, Juan Carlo the Caterer has been elevating Filipino celebrations with exquisite food, beautiful décor, and innovative ideas. From humble beginnings in their hometown of Batangas to catering some of the most lavish celebrity weddings and grand parties all over the country, Juan Carlo the Caterer has spent the last thirty years becoming the go-to catering company for many Filipinos.

To celebrate this momentous occasion, Juan Carlo’s founders, Alex del Rosario and Teresita Macatangay del Rosario, along with their son, Juan Carlo (after whom the business is named), invited their partners, clients, friends, supporters, and media guests to a birthday bash like no other. We take you inside this party full of surprise performances and culinary masterpieces.

1. A Visual Feast

Upon entering the Blue Leaf Cosmopolitan in Quezon City, attendees were welcomed by a grand display of red floral arrangements and upscale finger foods like baked oysters and savory cones filled with fresh salmon and tuna. Inside the dining area, more red décor (the color of the evening) elegantly lined the ceilings and tables in an Art Deco–inspired style. Performers dressed in large, floral, showgirl-inspired outfits entertained guests as they arrived. The vibe evoked a spectacular 1920s cabaret with modern twists.

2. Getting to Know Juan Carlo

Throughout the evening, videos by Nice Print Photo played snippets that traced Juan Carlo the Caterer’s story—from a small commissary to one of the most sought-after caterers in the country. Interviews with the founders, their partners, former clients, and longtime staff (some of whom have been with them for many years) shared humorous and fascinating stories about Juan Carlo’s journey and their experiences behind the scenes.

3. A Star-Studded Occasion

Juan Carlo is known for catering many celebrity weddings and parties, and the anniversary was no exception. Annabelle Rama and Ara Mina were among the guests, and what better way to dine than to be serenaded by some of OPM’s best (who also happen to be Juan Carlo’s clients). Among them were Yeng Constantino, Morissette, Aicelle Santos, Angeline Quinto, and power couple Ogie Alcasid and Regine Velasquez. Each performed a song dedicated to Juan Carlo while also sharing their own stories and testimonials.

4. Every Plate’s a Stage

For instance, the appetizer was an A5 Wagyu and foie gras dish infused with Filipino flavors like kamias (bilimbi), pili nuts, and kangkong (water spinach). The dish came covered with flash paper that was ignited in front of the diner, dramatically revealing the appetizer beneath. Later, for the first course, grilled sea bass was topped with salted egg and kalabasa (squash) purée for a rich, creamy experience. To top it off, waiters sprinkled asin tibuok (Bohol artisanal sea salt) right in front of you.

The craftsmanship was truly on display over the seven courses, which also included an Angus rib eye steak-and-lobster course and a visually sumptuous mango-and-corn dessert topped with edible art.

5. An Early Christmas Present

After the night’s events, guests got to take home an early Christmas present—an advent calendar of festive food and trinkets perfect for the holiday months. Inside were balls of tablea (pure cacao tablets), jam and honey, chocolates, and other sweet treats to cap off the extravagant evening.

Juan Carlo the Caterer’s 30th anniversary bash celebrated the people and the artistry that got them to where they are today. The team hopes to pass on a legacy of culinary artistry, dedication, and heartfelt connections. And after three decades of service, Juan Carlo remains committed to delivering world-class culinary performances and creating unforgettable memories, truly living up to their slogan: the heart of tasteful celebrations.
