Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, May 27) — The Department of Health (DOH) on Friday said it is holding discussions on improving inoculation in several areas in the country where COVID-19 vaccination rates remain low.
“Nagkakaroon tayo ngayon ng micro planning sessions. Ibig sabihin titignan natin, paano ba (ang) pagbabakuna sa mga areas na mababa (ang vaccination rate),” DOH USec. Myrna Cabotaje said in a public briefing.

Cabotaje added that sessions were already done in Palawan and Masbate, and are ongoing in Region 12. Quezon Province and Negros are scheduled to hold their sessions next week.
Meanwhile, Cabotaje reported that the special vaccination days in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) on May 11 to 20 went well.
BARMM was earlier reported to have a low vaccination rate, which officials feared may result in a ‘mini surge’ in cases.
“Maganda-ganda ang pagrampa ng bakunahan nila nung special vaccination days. Tumaas naman ng bahagya ‘yung ating BARMM,” Cabotaje said.

Vaccinators were able to inoculate 500 persons per day which is more than the average, she stressed.
As of May 26, Cabotaje said that 73.7 million Filipinos have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine while 69.1 million Filipinos are already fully-vaccinated. She added that the number of individuals who received their second booster dose has increased since it is also now being offered to senior citizens and health workers.
