
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, April 25) — The Department of Health (DOH) logged 1,465 new COVID-19 infections and 213 fatalities in the week of April 18 to 24.
Based on its weekly case bulletin posted Monday, the daily average was 209 new infections, 12% lower than the previous week.
There were no new critical cases recorded but 726 critical infections are currently staying in hospitals.
Of the 213 deaths, 43 occurred this month, while the rest were traced back to previous months including as far back as August 2020.
The utilization rate for non-intensive care unit (ICU) beds was at 16.9% or 4,112 out of 24,309 beds. On the other hand, the ICU utilization rate is at 16.9% or 479 out of 2,841 beds.
The DOH also said as of April 22, the Philippines has already vaccinated 74.98% of the target population and 76.35% of the target elderly population (A2).
More than 67.48 million Filipinos are now fully vaccinated against the virus. Nearly 13 million Filipinos, meanwhile, have already secured their booster shots.
