Reported death toll due to ‘Agaton’ climbs to 175; over 100 still missing — NDRRMC

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, April 19)— The number of reported fatalities due to the onslaught of Tropical Depression Agaton has climbed to 175, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said on Tuesday.

Out of the reported casualties, only 15 had been confirmed so far, according to NDRRMC’s latest monitoring report.

Majority of the deaths were recorded in Eastern Visayas.

Meanwhile, the council added that a total of 110 people were also reported missing, while eight were injured.

Overall, more than two million people were affected by the storm.

The Department of Agriculture earlier estimated Agaton’s damage to the sector at ₱725.2 million.
