Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, March 8)— Sixty-three Filipino nationals have returned home from war-torn Ukraine, while over a hundred others moved to nearby European nations, according to latest data from the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

In an advisory on Tuesday, the DFA said there are now a total of 199 Filipinos who availed of government assistance amid Russia’s invasion of the former Soviet state.

Some opted to evacuate to Poland, Moldova, Romania, Austria, and Hungary, the agency added.

The DFA earlier raised Crisis Alert Level 4 over Ukraine — prompting a mandatory evacuation for the area.

The Philippines was among the countries that voted in favor of a United Nations General Assembly resolution condemning Moscow’s attacks.
