Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, March 13) — Southeast Asian Games-bound Limitless Appmasters took home the PBA 3×3 second conference third leg crown after a close 21-20 win over first leg titlist TNT Tropang Giga on Sunday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The Appmasters tightened up their defense in the final two minutes to overcome a five-point deficit in the game.
Jorey Napoles, who led all scorers in the finals with 14 points, made the game-winning shot at the paint after clearing a miss by Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser.
Limitless, which ruled the PBA 3×3 first conference, asserted their domination as the country’s top 3×3 team after sweeping their three pool play games in Pool C.
Rosser and Napoles both notched eight points in their 21-14 victory over second leg titlist San Miguel Beermen in the quarterfinals.
The Appmasters overcame a low-scoring affair in the semifinals with a 16-11 win over the Meralco Bolts, the bronze medalists in the third leg, after beating Terrafirma Dyip in the battle for third place.
Almond Vosotros led TNT in scoring in the finals with nine points.
Limitless bagged the championship a day after the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas announced they would represent the country in the men’s 3×3 competition of the 31st Southeast Asian Games in May in Hanoi, Vietnam.
