Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, February 16) – Actor Robin Padilla completed the 12-member senatorial slate of presidential candidate Bongbong Marcos and vice presidential bet Sara Duterte.
“12 na po kami ngayong araw na ito [We have 12 senatorial candidates already starting today],” Duterte said during their coalition’s campaign rally in Ilocos Norte on Wednesday.
Duterte introduced the group’s eleven senatorial bets in the event and then mentioned Padilla last, which received a lot of cheers from the audience.
While Padilla completes the Marcos-Duterte senatorial lineup, he is still listed as part of the slate of the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) faction led by Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi.
The PDP-Laban is the country’s ruling political party, where President Rodrigo Duterte is the incumbent national chairman of the Cusi faction.
The party has yet to issue a statement if Padilla is still part of their senatorial slate for the 2022 polls.
Party-list representative Rodante Marcoleta, who is part of the Marcos-Duterte senatorial lineup, is also part of the PDP-Laban ticket.
Padilla joins Marcoleta, reelectionists Migz Zubiri and Sherwin Gatchalian, aspiring Senate returnees Loren Legarda, Jinggoy Estrada, and Gringo Honasan, former Public Works and Highways secretary Mark Villar, former Quezon City mayor Herbert Bautista, former presidential spokesperson Harry Roque, former Defense secretary Gilbert Teodoro, and suspended lawyer Larry Gadon in the Marcos-Duterte senatorial slate.
