Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, February 10) — It’s official: Power couple and Korean drama stars Son Ye-Jin and Hyun Bin are getting married.
The lead couple of the 2019 hit television series Crash Landing on You confirmed the news in separate social media posts on Thursday.
“Before writing this, I was thinking a lot about how to express my feelings. I wanted to say it nicely, because it’s such a precious and important story,” Son Ye-Jin wrote on Instagram, sharing a photo of a mini-wedding dress.
“I found someone to spend the rest of my life with. Yes…It’s him,” she said.
The actress, who recently turned 40, added that sharing a future with Hyun Bin “happened so naturally,” and asked for her fans’ support on her decision.
Her now-fiancé, meanwhile, broke the news through a handwritten note posted on his own entertainment agency’s Instagram account. Hyun Bin described the engagement as the “most important decision” of his life.
“I made an important decision to get married, and I’m going to carefully step into the second phase of my life,” said the actor, who is also turning 40 this year.
The date of their wedding has not been disclosed.
The couple first confirmed their relationship in January 2021, several months after they reportedly started dating.
They starred in the 2018 film “The Negotiation,” although the two shared in past interviews that they were mostly filmed in separate locations. They reunited in 2019 for the widely popular series Crash Landing on You, where Hyun played Captain Ri Jeong-hyeok and Son as wealthy business heiress Yoon Se-ri, who crash-landed in North Korea’s portion of the demilitarized zone.
