Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, November 2) — APO Hiking Society member Danny Javier left his fans one last song before he died.
Musical composer Lorrie Ilustre on Tuesday shared that he arranged a song with his friend’s last recording.
“I decided to arrange and record instead a tune he roughly sang on his Facebook page. Through family, I was able to get the recording with his original vocals to his hospital bed,” said Ilustre in a Facebook post.
The composer said the nurse played the song to Javier at the hospital and he nodded to acknowledge it was okay.
“I know Danny’s writing style and ideas so I just had to make this music arrangement for him to bring along to his journey home. I took his vocals from his FB post and recorded. His video I synced to audio. I just tweaked a note and rearranged the song structure but I kept everything the way he would have wanted it,” he added.
Javier died on October 31 at the age of 75. “Lahat Tayo” was Javier’s sendoff to himself in a humorous way, said Ilustre.
“DANNY JAVIER, a man fully aware of his mortality expressed himself in music with lyrics infused with humor. He sang in a way that only he could deliver, singing his own sendoff ahead of its time,” the composer added.
The song is now available on YouTube. Ilustre said the song would be available soon in Spotify and other music platforms.
