Lapid seeks additional service incentive leaves for workers

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, November 16) – Senator Manuel “Lito” Lapid on Tuesday filed a bill that will raise the number of paid service incentive leaves of employees from five to 10 days.

[Translation: An important aspect of worker’s welfare and benefits is granting them leaves so our employees will have time to spend with their families, have a vacation, and take care of themselves.]

Lapid said granting additional leaves will also benefit employers since this will improve their workers’ morale, well-being, and productivity.

The measure, however, excludes those already enjoying 10-day paid leaves, those working in establishments with less than 10 employees, and establishments exempted by the labor secretary.
