Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, November 14) — The country recalibrated its tourism target of visitor arrivals to 2.4 million by the end of 2022, as the Philippines surpassed the two-million mark on Monday, Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco said.
Frasco said the target of visitors in the country is a “moving target” as the 1.7-million target was surpassed in October.
“As of today, we have breached the two-million mark, having obtained over 2,000,0025 tourists in the Philippines. Of this number, more than the majority are foreign travellers,” Frasco told CNN Philippines.
According to the Tourism secretary, the Philippines is still one of the top destinations of tourists from all over the world, citing recent tourism awards.

“We’re very positive that the trend of revenge travel will continue and the interest for the Philippines will only grow in the months to come,” Frasco said.
President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. earlier expressed confidence in the Tourism department’s plans to revive tourism in the country, calling the industry a driver for transformation.
