
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, October 31) — The Manila Electric Company (Meralco) on Monday said it is working round the clock to restore power in areas in Luzon affected by interruptions due to Severe Tropical Storm Paeng.
From a total of 4,002,292 affected customers, Meralco said it is now down to just over 52,000.
“As of 12:00 noon today, October 31, (the) number of affected customers [is] already down to 52,337,” the power company said in a statement.
“Majority of them are still in Cavite and Laguna, and the rest are in parts of Bulacan, Rizal, Metro Manila, Batangas, and Quezon,” it added.
