Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, October 19) — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. has named new associate justices of the Court of Appeals (CA) and the Court of Tax Appeals (CTA).
As indicated in the appointment papers shared to the media on Wednesday, Marcos tapped Selma Palacio Alaras and Wilhelmina Jorge-Wagan as CA associate justices.
Corazon Ferrer-Flores was appointed to the CTA.
Their papers were transmitted by executive secretary Lucas Bersamin to chief justice Alexander Gesmundo.
CA, the second highest tribunal in the country, is composed of one presiding judge and 68 associate justices while CTA, which is of the same level as CA, also has one presiding judge but only eight associate justices.
All were appointed by the President from a shortlist submitted by the Judicial and Bar Council.
