Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, January 6) — A lawmaker has filed a bill for families to receive a P15,000 one-time cash assistance from the government if their household is fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Quezon City Rep. Alfred Vargas on Wednesday said House Bill No. 10466 or “Ayuda Sa Bakuna Act” could help encourage COVID-19 vaccination and accelerate the country’s path toward herd immunity.
He said the proposed cash assistance will come from the Department of Social Welfare and Development in addition to its other social amelioration activities.
Vargas said he expects the measure to reach deliberations in the House of Representatives when session resumes early this year.
